Such a Time as This
I do not believe our nation is on the “eve of destruction” as was sung by Barry McGuire back in 1965. But I do sense an increased aggression and hostility in our nation as we turn on each other, American against American, and in many cases people of faith. Conflict among faith communities is nothing new, but I believe at this point in time that the inherent risk to our nation is great because of these conflicts. Specifically, the “polarization of faith” as will be discussed in future blogs is driving a larger and larger wedge between faith communities. The result is the emboldening of political officials all across our nation proposing legislation that if enacted will routinely overturn elections and nullify our constitutional right of elections by the people. Additionally, we have U.S. Senators openly stating their main objective while in Congress is to oppose any legislation proposed by the opposing political party and to obstruct the legislative process. These are crises of governance that I believe are largely enabled by what I call an identity crisis of the evangelical people of faith. More to be discussed on this issue in the future.

You are my inspiration, I have few web logs and very sporadically run out from brand :). “The soul that is within me no man can degrade.” by Frederick Douglas.
When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Thank you!
