Now it stands as a memorial of man’s cruelty to man with its crowded cell blocks, solitary confinement areas, and isolation; it is unescapable because of its surrounding, swirling ocean currents at freezing temperatures. It is a picture of hopelessness surrounded by some of God’s most beautiful creation. This picture says to me that no matter how we stand in the eyes of man, God’s grace and beauty surround us. All we have to do is “see it” through eyes of faith.
